moha eva mahamrityur mumukshor vapur-adishu
moho vinirjito yena sa muktipadam arhati
मोह एव महामृत्युर्मुमुक्षोर्वपुरादिषु ।
मोहो विनिर्जितो येन स मुक्तिपदमर्हति ॥
For the seeker, delusion about the body and such things is itself the great death. One who has conquered this delusion deserves the state of freedom.

मुमुक्षु के लिए शरीर आदि में मोह ही महामृत्यु है। जिसने इस मोह को जीत लिया, वही मुक्ति के पद का अधिकारी है।
रूप, संपत्ति और रुतबे से ज़रूरत से ज़्यादा जुड़ना एक तरह की जीवित मृत्यु है, यह हमें बेचैन और छोटा रखता है। यह पकड़ ढीली हो, तो आज़ादी का द्वार खुलता है।
