yatha suvarnam putapakashodhitam tyaktva malam svatmagunam samrichchati
tatha manah sattvarajastamomalam dhyanena santyajya sameti tattvam
यथा सुवर्णं पुटपाकशोधितं त्यक्त्वा मलं स्वात्मगुणं समृच्छति ।
तथा मनः सत्त्वरजस्तमोमलं ध्यानेन सन्त्यज्य समेति तत्त्वम् ॥
Just as gold, purified by heating in the furnace, sheds its impurities and regains its own lustre, so the mind, through meditation, sheds the impurities of restlessness, dullness and even attachment to goodness, and reaches the Truth.

ध्यान सोना तपाने जैसा है, लगातार अभ्यास की आँच वह जला देती है जो आप नहीं हैं। यह असहज लग सकता है, पर आपकी असली चमक दिखाता है।
