Even after the truth is known, this beginningless, powerful habit of thinking 'I am the doer and the enjoyer' remains strong and keeps one bound. It must be removed with effort by living in awareness of the inner Self. Sages call the thinning of such habits liberation.

What it means
Knowing something isn't the same as living it. Old habits keep pulling even after insight. Real change is the patient, daily weakening of those patterns.

Spoken by Adi Shankaracharya.
