jahi mam saumya vishrabdhah pratijnam paripalaya
heenapratijnah kakutstha prayanti narakam narah
जहि मां सौम्य विश्रब्धः प्रतिज्ञां परिपालय।
हीनप्रतिज्ञाः काकुत्स्थ प्रयान्ति नरकं नराः॥
Strike me without hesitation, dear brother, and keep your vow. People who break their promises fall into ruin.
What it means
Bound by a promise he made to Time itself, Rama must part with Lakshmana, who urges him not to waver. Lakshmana values his brother's word above his own life, an ultimate act of loyalty.हिंदी में अर्थ

काल को दिए वचन के कारण राम को लक्ष्मण से अलग होना पड़ता है, और लक्ष्मण उन्हें डगमगाने नहीं देते। भाई के वचन को अपने प्राणों से ऊपर रखना निष्ठा की चरम सीमा है।
