Valmiki Ramayana 6.2.2 meaning
kim tvam santapyase veera yath-anyah prakritas tatha
maivam bhoos tyaja santapam kritaghna iva sauhridam
Why do you grieve like an ordinary person, hero? Don't be like this. Throw off this sorrow, the way an ungrateful person throws off friendship.
What it means
Sugriva uses a sharp image: drop your grief as easily as ungrateful people drop friends. Sometimes the kindest thing a friend can do is shake us out of sorrow and point us toward action.
Spoken by Sugriva.
