Valmiki Ramayana 6.12.16 meaning
sa ched bhayad va mohad va kamad vapi na rakshati
svaya shaktya yathatattvam tat papam lokagarhitam
स चेद्भयाद्वा मोहाद्वा कामाद्वापि न रक्षति।
स्वया शक्त्या यथातत्त्वं तत्पापं लोकगर्हितम्॥
If someone, out of fear, confusion or desire, does not protect the one who comes for shelter as fully as they truly can, that is a sin the world condemns.
What it means
Rama explains why he will shelter Vibhishana even though he comes from the enemy side. When someone vulnerable trusts us, turning them away out of fear or self-interest is a serious failure.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो व्यक्ति भय, मोह या स्वार्थ के कारण शरण में आए की अपनी पूरी शक्ति से रक्षा नहीं करता, उसका यह पाप संसार में निंदित है।
राम बताते हैं कि वे शत्रु पक्ष से आए विभीषण को भी शरण क्यों देंगे। जब कोई असहाय हम पर भरोसा करे, तो डर या स्वार्थ से उसे लौटाना बड़ी भूल है।
