Valmiki Ramayana 4.26.12 meaning

samunmoolaya shokam tvam vyavasayam sthiram kuru tatah saparivaram tam nirmoolam kuru rakshasam

Pull out your sorrow by the roots and make your resolve firm. Then you can wipe out that demon along with all his followers.

What it means
Firm resolve is the medicine for paralysing grief. Once we decide clearly what we will do, sadness loses some of its grip. A clear goal turns pain into purpose.

Spoken by Lakshmana.
