tvadvidhah kamavritto hi duhsheelah papamantritah
atmanam svajanam rashtram sa raja hanti durmatih
त्वद्विधः कामवृत्तो हि दुःशीलः पापमन्त्रितः।
आत्मानं स्वजनं राष्ट्रं स राजा हन्ति दुर्मतिः॥
A ruler like you, driven by desire, of bad character and listening to bad advice, ruins himself, his own people and his kingdom.
What it means
Maricha warns Ravana that one person's unchecked desires never stay private. A head of a family, business or nation who follows impulse and bad advice drags everyone down with him.हिंदी में अर्थ
तुम्हारे जैसा राजा, जो इच्छाओं के पीछे चले, बुरे चरित्र वाला हो और बुरी सलाह माने, वह ख़ुद को, अपनों को और राज्य को नष्ट कर देता है।
मारीच रावण को चेताता है कि एक व्यक्ति की बेलगाम इच्छाएँ निजी नहीं रहतीं। परिवार, व्यापार या देश का मुखिया अगर आवेग और बुरी सलाह पर चले, तो सबको डुबोता है।
