nirmaryadas tu purushah papacharasamanvitah
manam na labhate satsu bhinnacharitradarshanah
निर्मर्यादस्तु पुरुषः पापाचारसमन्वितः।
मानं न लभते सत्सु भिन्नचारित्रदर्शनः॥
A person with no limits, given to wrongdoing, earns no respect among good people, because their broken character is plain to see.
What it means
Rama refuses a clever argument to break his word. Respect cannot be bought or argued into existence; it grows from steady conduct. People notice when someone has no lines they won't cross.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो व्यक्ति मर्यादा नहीं मानता और बुरे काम करता है, उसे सज्जनों में सम्मान नहीं मिलता, क्योंकि उसका टूटा चरित्र साफ़ दिखता है।
राम वचन तोड़ने के एक चतुर तर्क को ठुकराते हैं। सम्मान ख़रीदा या बहस से नहीं पाया जाता, वह स्थिर आचरण से बढ़ता है। लोग पहचान लेते हैं कि किसकी कोई सीमा नहीं।
