Moving about freely, eating without having to beg anyone, living with noble people, learning whose only aim is peace, a mind that hardly stirs even toward the outside world: thinking long about it, I do not know what great austerity has ripened into this.

What it means
Freedom, good company, meaningful learning and a calm mind are a blessing worth noticing. If you have even some of these, pause and be thankful; they are rarer and more precious than they seem.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
