Vairagya Shataka 69 meaning

agre geetam sarasakavayah parshvayor dakshinatyah pashchal leelavalayaranitam chamaragrahineenam yady astv evam kuru bhavaras-asvadane lampatatvam no chech chetah pravisha sahasa nirvikalpe samadhau

In front, songs; at your sides, witty southern poets; behind, the tinkling bangles of fan-bearers. If you can have all this, then go on, indulge in worldly enjoyment. If not, mind, enter at once into the stillness of deep meditation.

What it means
A playful challenge: if you can have perfect pleasure, fine, enjoy it. But since life rarely offers that, why keep waiting for it? The better choice is to turn inward, where peace does not depend on conditions.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
