With each rise and set of the sun, life shrinks day by day. Busy with heavy loads of work, we do not even notice time passing. We see birth, old age, trouble and death, yet feel no alarm. The world has drunk the wine of carelessness and gone mad.

What it means
Busyness can numb us to how fast life is moving. We see aging and loss all around and still act as if we have forever. Pause regularly to ask: is how I am spending my days what really matters?

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
