There is one supreme joy, ever rising, ever unfolding. Once settled in it, a person sees Brahma, Indra and all the gods as specks of straw, and even ruling the three worlds tastes flat. Good soul, do not set your heart on other joys that break in a moment.

What it means
Once you taste deep inner peace, many things you chased before feel small. Look for joys that come from within and grow over time, rather than thrills that fade the moment they arrive.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
