खलालापाः सोढाः कथमपि तदाराधनपरैर्निगृह्यान्तर्बाष्पं हसितमपि शून्येन मनसा कृतो वित्तस्तम्भप्रतिहतधियामञ्जलिरपि त्वमाशे मोघाशे किमपरमतो नर्तयसि माम्॥

To win favour I somehow put up with the insults of the wicked. I swallowed my tears and laughed with an empty heart. I even folded my hands before people whose minds are frozen by pride of money. O Hope, useless Hope, how much more will you make me dance?

Hope can make us fake smiles and swallow insults for people who do not respect us. Ask yourself whose approval you are performing for, and whether the price you pay in self-respect is worth it.

आशा हमें ऐसे लोगों के आगे झूठी मुस्कान और अपमान सहने पर मजबूर कर देती है जो हमारी कद्र नहीं करते। पूछो, किसकी मंज़ूरी के लिए यह नाटक है, और क्या इसकी कीमत ठीक है।
