Life rolls like a wave. The glow of youth lasts a few days. Wealth is as passing as a thought. Pleasures flash like lightning in the rainy season. Even a loved one's embrace does not last long. So fix your heart on the Supreme, to cross the ocean of worldly fear.

What it means
Everything precious in life is brief, including the embrace of those we love. This is not meant to scare you, but to point you toward something deeper that does not pass, a connection to the divine that steadies you.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
