Pleasures flicker like lightning in a bank of clouds. Life is as fragile as water held on lotus leaves that the wind shakes. The longings of youth are restless. Knowing this, wise people, quickly set your minds on yoga, which steadiness and deep meditation make easy to reach.

What it means
Since everything outside keeps flickering and slipping away, build something steady within. A regular practice of stillness, prayer or meditation gives you a centre that stays calm when life shakes.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
