Deep-rooted love is hard to let go of; each time we remember, the pain becomes fresh again. Yet this is the way of the world: once tears are shed, the mind feels it has paid its debt and grows calm.
What it means
Crying is not weakness; it is how the heart settles its accounts with loss. Holding tears back keeps the pain sharp. Let yourself weep when memories come; calm often follows soon after.
Spoken by Bhāsa.
