kalakramena jagatah parivartamana chakrarapanktir iva gachchati bhagyapanktih
पूर्वं त्वयाप्यभिमतं गतमेवमासीच्छ्लाघ्यं गमिष्यसि पुनर्विजयेन भर्तुः ।
कालक्रमेण जगतः परिवर्तमाना चक्रारपङ्क्तिरिव गच्छति भाग्यपङ्क्तिः ॥
Before, you too travelled in honour as you wished; with your husband's victory you will travel in glory again. With the passage of time, the fortunes of the world turn round like the row of spokes on a wheel.

पहले तुम भी इसी तरह सम्मान से आती-जाती थीं; पति की विजय से तुम फिर गौरव के साथ चलोगी। समय के क्रम में संसार का भाग्य पहिए की तीलियों की पंक्ति की तरह घूमता रहता है।
भास की रानी छिपकर, विनम्र होकर रह रही है, पर उसे याद दिलाया जाता है कि भाग्य घूमता है। पद या आराम कुछ समय को खोया हो, तो गरिमा रखिए; जो पहिया ले गया, वही लौटा सकता है।
