The exiled Yaksha writes to his wife: thinking things through, I hold myself up by my own strength, so you too, dear one, must not lose heart. Who has ever had only happiness, or only sorrow? Life's condition goes down and comes up again, like the rim of a turning wheel.

What it means
Bad phases are not permanent, and neither are good ones. Like a wheel, life keeps turning. When you are at the bottom, hold on and support those you love; the rising part of the turn is already coming.

Spoken by Kālidāsa.
