May the Lord protect you through his eight visible forms: water, the first creation; fire, which carries offerings; the one who offers; the sun and moon that measure time; space, whose quality is sound; earth, the source of all seeds; and air, by which all beings breathe.

What it means
Kalidasa sees God not far away but in water, fire, sky, earth, air, sun and moon. Every glass of water and every breath can become a small reminder that the sacred is all around you.

Spoken by Kālidāsa.
