Subhashitas Subhashita 436 meaning

moolam doshasya hinsader arthakamau sma ma pushah tau hi tattv-avabodhasya duruchchedav upaplavau

Do not feed wealth and pleasure, for they are the root of faults like violence. They are stubborn disturbances that block the understanding of truth.

What it means
Money and pleasure are not evil, but when they become the main thing we nourish, they slowly push people to cut corners and hurt others. Keep them as servants of a good life, not its masters.

Spoken by Bhāravi.
