Subhashitas Subhashita 426 meaning

balavan api kopajanmanas tamaso n-abhibhavam runaddhi yah kshayapaksha iv-aindaveeh kalah sakala hanti sa shaktisampadah

Even a powerful person who does not stop the darkness born of anger from overpowering him loses all his strengths, just as the waning fortnight wipes out every phase of the moon.

What it means
Talent, money and position do not protect you from your own temper. Uncontrolled anger quietly eats away at reputation and relationships, phase by phase, like a shrinking moon. Guard your strengths by guarding your temper.

Spoken by Bhāravi.
