Shvetashvatara Upanishad 6.18 meaning

yo brahmanam vidadhati poorvam yo vai vedansh cha prahinoti tasmai tam ha devam atmabuddhiprakasham mumukshur vai sharanam aham prapadye

He who first created Brahma and gave him the Vedas — to that God, who lights up the mind from within, I, longing for freedom, go for refuge.

What it means
After all the philosophy, the sage simply surrenders. Taking refuge does not mean giving up effort; it means admitting you need help, and trusting the light that guides your own understanding.

Spoken by Shvetashvatara.
