Shvetashvatara Upanishad 5.10 meaning
na-iva stree na puman esha na cha-iv-ayam napunsakah
yad yach chareeram adatte tena tena sa yujyate
नैव स्त्री न पुमानेष न चैवायं नपुंसकः ।
यद्यच्छरीरमादत्ते तेन तेन स युज्यते ॥
The Self is not female, not male, and not neither. Whatever body it takes on, it is joined with that body for a while.
What it means
At the deepest level, the soul has no gender, and the body is just its current clothing. Every person you meet carries the same inner Self, which is a strong reason to treat everyone with equal respect.हिंदी में अर्थ
यह आत्मा न स्त्री है, न पुरुष, और न ही नपुंसक। वह जो भी शरीर धारण करता है, कुछ समय के लिए उसी से जुड़ जाता है।
सबसे गहरे स्तर पर आत्मा का कोई लिंग नहीं; शरीर बस उसका अभी का वस्त्र है। हर व्यक्ति में वही आत्मा है, इसलिए सबको बराबर सम्मान देना स्वाभाविक है।
