Shvetashvatara Upanishad 3.13 meaning

angushthamatrah purushontaratma sada jananam hridaye sannivishtah hrida maneesha manas-abhiklripto ya etad vidur amritas te bhavanti

The inner Self, the size of a thumb, always dwells in the hearts of people. It is grasped by the heart, by insight and by the mind. Those who know this become immortal.

What it means
"Thumb-sized" is a poetic way of saying the divine is close and intimate, living right in your heart. It is reached not by cleverness alone but by feeling, insight and thought working together.
