मधुस्फीता वाचः परमममृतं निर्मितवतस्तव ब्रह्मन् किं वागपि सुरगुरोर्विस्मयपदम्।
मम त्वेतां वाणीं गुणकथनपुण्येन भवतः पुनामीत्यर्थेऽस्मिन् पुरमथन बुद्धिर्व्यवसिता॥
You created the Vedas, words sweet as nectar; how could even the speech of the gods' teacher impress you? Still, O destroyer of the three cities, I have resolved to sing your glories, so that my own speech is made pure by it.
What it means
We do not praise God because God needs it. We praise because it changes us. Speaking about goodness, again and again, slowly cleans our own words and thoughts.हिंदी में अर्थ
तुमने अमृत-से मीठे वेद-वचन रचे; तो देवगुरु बृहस्पति की वाणी भी तुम्हें क्या चकित करेगी? फिर भी हे त्रिपुरारि, मैंने ठान लिया है कि तुम्हारे गुण गाऊँ, ताकि मेरी अपनी वाणी पवित्र हो जाए।
हम ईश्वर की स्तुति इसलिए नहीं करते कि उसे ज़रूरत है। स्तुति हमें बदलती है। बार-बार अच्छाई के बारे में बोलना धीरे-धीरे हमारी वाणी और विचार साफ़ करता है।
