When you dance to protect the world, the earth trembles under your stamping feet, the planets in the sky are struck by your whirling arms, and the heavens shake as your flying hair lashes them. Truly, great power can be hard for others to bear.

जब तुम संसार की रक्षा के लिए नाचते हो, तो पैरों की थाप से धरती काँप उठती है, घूमती भुजाओं से आकाश के ग्रह टकराते हैं, और लहराती जटाओं से स्वर्ग डगमगा जाता है। सच, महान शक्ति दूसरों के लिए सहना कठिन होती है।
शिव का तांडव संसार की रक्षा करता है, पर उसे हिलाता भी है। सच्चा बदलाव शायद ही कभी कोमल होता है। कभी जो बदलाव हमें बचाते हैं, वे होते समय उथल-पुथल जैसे लगते हैं।
