संत असंतन्हि कै असि करनी। जिमि कुठार चंदन आचरनी।।
काटइ परसु मलय सुनु भाई। निज गुन देइ सुगंध बसाई।।

अच्छा इंसान चोट खाकर भी खुशबू छोड़ जाता है, जैसे चंदन काटने वाली कुल्हाड़ी को महका देता है। दूसरों की चोट रोकना हमेशा हाथ में नहीं, पर उनके जैसा न बनना हाथ में है।
