One who speaks sweetly to your face but plots against you behind your back, whose mind twists like a snake's path — give up such a false friend; that is wise.
What it means
Some people are sweet in front of you and poisonous behind your back. Rama's advice is clear: you don't owe such people your closeness. Protecting your peace from two-faced friends is wise, not unkind. How it helps in real life
- With friends: A friend is sweet in person but mocks you in another group chat. Quietly step back, mute the chats, and stop sharing personal news.
- At work: A colleague praises you in meetings but takes credit for your work with the boss. From now on, record your contributions by email.
Spoken by Rama.
