Ramcharitmanas 4.14.2 meaning
barashahin jalad bhoomi niaraen jatha navahin budh bidya paen
boond aghat sahahin giri kaisen khal ke bachan sant sah jaisen
Clouds full of rain bend low towards the earth, just as wise people become humble when they gain knowledge. Mountains bear the pounding of raindrops the way saints bear the harsh words of the wicked.
What it means
Full clouds hang low; real learning makes people humble, not arrogant. And like mountains in a storm, strong people let harsh words fall without being shaken. Both are signs of inner depth. How it helps in real life
- When you succeed: Just finished your PhD? At the family dinner, listen more than you lecture, especially to the uncle who never went to college.
- When you are angry: A troll leaves a nasty comment on your post. Let it fall like rain on a mountain; don't reply, just block and move on.
