Ramcharitmanas · Ayodhya Kand
Ramcharitmanas 2.56.1 meaning
jaun keval pitu ayasu tata tau jani jahu jani badi mata
jaun pitu matu kaheu ban jana taun kanan sat avadh samana
If it were only your father's order, my son, I would stop you, since a mother's word ranks higher. But if both your father and mother say go to the forest, then the forest will be as good as a hundred Ayodhyas.
What it means
Kausalya could have fought, but chose to bless her son instead. A parent's blessing turns even exile into a home; your support can turn someone's hardest road into a meaningful one.How it helps in real life
- As a parent: Your son wants to leave for a job in Germany and you dread the empty house. Give him your blessing warmly instead of guilt.
- With family: Your younger sister is moving to a tough hostel for her medical seat. See her off with a packed tiffin and a hug, not worries.
Spoken by Kausalya.
