yad dhatra nijabhalapattalikhitam stokam mahad va dhanam tat prapnoti marusthalepi nitaram merau tato n-adhikam tad dheero bhava vittavatsu kripanam vrittim vritha sa krithah koope pashya payonidhav-api ghato grihnati tulyam jalam

यद्धात्रा निजभालपट्टलिखितं स्तोकं महद्वा धनं तत्प्राप्नोति मरुस्थलेऽपि नितरां मेरौ ततो नाधिकम् । तद्धीरो भव वित्तवत्सु कृपणां वृत्तिं वृथा सा कृथाः कूपे पश्य पयोनिधावपि घटो गृह्णाति तुल्यं जलम् ॥

Whatever wealth, small or large, the creator has written on your forehead, you will get it even in a desert, and no more even on Mount Meru. So stay steady; don't grovel before the rich. Look: in a well or in the ocean, a pot holds the same amount of water.

Chasing rich people or envying them won't change your own capacity. Your pot holds what it holds. Work on enlarging yourself, not on begging from others, and live with steady dignity.

विधाता ने माथे पर जितना धन लिखा है, थोड़ा या ज़्यादा, वह रेगिस्तान में भी मिलेगा और सोने के मेरु पर्वत पर भी उससे ज़्यादा नहीं। इसलिए धीर बनो, धनवानों के आगे गिड़गिड़ाओ मत। देखो, घड़ा कुएँ में हो या समुद्र में, उतना ही पानी लेता है।

अमीरों के पीछे भागने या उनसे जलने से हमारी क्षमता नहीं बदलती। अपना घड़ा बड़ा कीजिए, दूसरों से माँगकर नहीं, और गरिमा से जीवन जिएँ।
