Mandukya Upanishad 9 meaning
jagaritasthano vaishvanarokarah prathama matrapter adimattvad va
apnoti ha vai sarvan kaman adish cha bhavati ya evam veda
जागरितस्थानो वैश्वानरोऽकारः प्रथमा मात्राऽऽप्तेरादिमत्त्वाद्वा।
आप्नोति ह वै सर्वान्कामानादिश्च भवति य एवं वेद॥
Vaiśvānara, the waking state, is 'A', the first letter, because it pervades all and because it comes first. One who knows this attains all wishes and becomes first among others.

वैश्वानर, यानी जागृत अवस्था, 'अ' है, पहली मात्रा, क्योंकि यह सबमें व्याप्त है और सबसे पहले आती है। जो इसे जानता है, वह सब इच्छाएँ पाता है और सबमें अग्रणी बनता है।
'अ' हर ध्वनि की शुरुआत है, जैसे जागृत जीवन वह जगह है जहाँ हम काम करते और पाते हैं। जागते समय पूरी सजगता रखो, तो प्रयास साफ़ और असरदार होगा।
