Mandukya Upanishad 8 meaning
soyam atm-adhyaksharam onkarodhimatram pada matra matrash cha pada
akara ukaro makara iti
सोऽयमात्माध्यक्षरमोङ्कारोऽधिमात्रं पादा मात्रा मात्राश्च पादा।
अकार उकारो मकार इति॥
This same Self, seen as a sound, is Om. Seen through its parts, the aspects of the Self are the letters of Om, and the letters are the aspects: A, U and M.
What it means
The Upanishad links the three states of experience to the three sounds in Om. Chanting A-U-M slowly becomes a map of your own journey from waking, to dreaming, to deep rest, and then silence.हिंदी में अर्थ
यही आत्मा, अक्षर के रूप में, ॐ है। मात्राओं के रूप में देखें तो आत्मा के पाद ही ॐ की मात्राएँ हैं, और मात्राएँ ही पाद हैं: अ, उ और म।
उपनिषद अनुभव की तीन अवस्थाओं को ॐ की तीन ध्वनियों से जोड़ता है। धीरे-धीरे अ-उ-म का जप जागृत से स्वप्न, स्वप्न से गहरी नींद और फिर मौन तक की यात्रा बन जाता है।
