The self is a river, O Bharata, with virtue as its holy bathing place, truth as its water, steadiness as its banks and self-control as its waves. The good person bathes in it and is purified, for the self is always pure.

What it means
You don't have to travel far to feel cleansed. Truth, steadiness and self-control within you are the real holy river. Bathe in them daily and your inner self stays clear.

Spoken by Vidura.
