Mahabharata 5.34.19 meaning
kim nu me syad idam kritva kim nu me syad akurvatah
iti karmani sanchintya kuryad va purusho na va
किं नु मे स्यादिदं कृत्वा किं नु मे स्यादकुर्वतः।
इति कर्माणि संचिन्त्य कुर्याद्वा पुरुषो न वा॥
'What will happen to me if I do this? What will happen if I don't?' Thinking over actions this way, a person should then decide whether to act or not.
What it means
A simple two-question test before any decision: what happens if I do it, and what happens if I don't? Seeing both sides clearly usually makes the right choice obvious.हिंदी में अर्थ
'यह करूँगा तो मेरा क्या होगा? न करूँ तो क्या होगा?' — इस तरह कामों पर विचार करके ही व्यक्ति को तय करना चाहिए कि करना है या नहीं।
किसी भी फ़ैसले से पहले दो सवाल: करूँ तो क्या होगा, न करूँ तो क्या होगा? दोनों पहलू साफ़ दिखते ही सही रास्ता समझ आ जाता है।
