Mahabharata 5.125.26 meaning
yavad dhi soochyas teekshnaya vidhyed agrena madhava
tavad apy-aparityajyam bhoomer nah pandavan prati
यावद्धि सूच्यास्तीक्ष्णाया विध्येदग्रेण माधव।
तावदप्यपरित्याज्यं भूमेर्नः पाण्डवान्प्रति॥
Not even as much land as the sharp tip of a needle can pierce, Madhava, will we give up to the Pandavas.
What it means
Duryodhana's famous refusal made the great war certain. Stubborn pride that will not give even a needle's point can cost everything. Sometimes a small compromise saves a whole world.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे माधव, तीखी सुई की नोक जितनी ज़मीन भी, हम पांडवों को नहीं देंगे।
दुर्योधन के इस इनकार ने महायुद्ध तय कर दिया। सुई की नोक भी न देने वाला अहंकार सब कुछ गँवा देता है। छोटा समझौता कई बार सब बचा लेता है।
