kinsvit pravasato mitram kinsvin mitram grihe satah aturasya cha kim mitram kinsvin mitram marishyatah sarthah pravasato mitram bharya mitram grihe satah aturasya bhishan mitram danam mitram marishyatah

Yaksha: Who is the friend of a traveller, of one at home, of the sick, and of the dying? Yudhishthira: Fellow travellers are the traveller's friend, a wife is the friend at home, a doctor is the friend of the sick, and the good one has given is the friend of the dying.

What it means
Every stage of life needs a different kind of support. Choose good company on the road, cherish your partner at home, trust healers when ill, and keep giving, because generosity is what stays with you at the end.

Spoken by Yaksha, Yudhishthira.
