Mahabharata 3.313.110 meaning

pathakah pathakash chaiva ye chanye shastrachintakah sarve vyasanino moorkha yah kriyavan sa panditah

Readers, teachers, and all others who only think about the scriptures are just hobbyists and fools. The one who actually puts it into practice is the truly learned person.

What it means
Knowing is not the same as doing. You can quote every book and still be stuck. Real wisdom shows up in how you act on an ordinary Tuesday, not in how much you can recite.

Spoken by Yudhishthira.
