nasti matrisama chaya nasti matrisama gatih
nasti matrisamam tranam nasti matrisama prapa
नास्ति मातृसमा छाया नास्ति मातृसमा गतिः।
नास्ति मातृसमं त्राणं नास्ति मातृसमा प्रपा॥
There is no shade like a mother, no refuge like a mother, no protection like a mother, and no source of water like a mother.
What it means
Shade from the sun, a place to run to, safety and refreshment: a mother is all of these. If your mother is with you, cherish her. If not, honour her memory by giving that same shelter to others.हिंदी में अर्थ
माँ के समान कोई छाया नहीं, माँ के समान कोई सहारा नहीं, माँ के समान कोई रक्षा नहीं और माँ के समान कोई प्याऊ नहीं।
धूप में छाया, भागकर पहुँचने की जगह, सुरक्षा और ताज़गी, माँ यह सब है। अगर माँ साथ है तो उसकी कद्र करो, नहीं है तो वही छाया दूसरों को देकर उसे याद करो।
