Mahabharata 12.168.45 meaning
ya dustyaja durmatibhir ya na jeeryati jeeryatah
yosau pranantiko rogas tam trishnam tyajatah sukham
Craving is hard for the foolish to give up, does not grow old even when a person grows old, and is a disease that lasts until death. Happiness belongs to the one who lets it go.
What it means
Age weakens the body but not the hunger for more. Unless you work on it, wanting stays young forever. Recognise craving as a disease, not a goal, and the cure is simply letting it go.
Spoken by Brahmin.
