Mahabharata 12.156.26 meaning
ashvamedhasahasram cha satyam cha tulaya dhritam
ashvamedhasahasrad dhi satyam evatirichyate
अश्वमेधसहस्रं च सत्यं च तुलया धृतम्।
अश्वमेधसहस्राद्धि सत्यमेवातिरिच्यते॥
A thousand horse sacrifices and truth were once weighed on a scale. Truth outweighed the thousand sacrifices.

Grand gestures and expensive rituals cannot match plain honesty. You do not need to do something spectacular to be good; telling the truth consistently already outweighs a mountain of show.हिंदी में अर्थ
एक हज़ार अश्वमेध यज्ञ और सत्य को तराजू पर तौला गया। सत्य ही हज़ार अश्वमेधों से भारी निकला।
बड़े दिखावे और महँगे कर्मकांड सीधी सच्चाई की बराबरी नहीं कर सकते। अच्छा बनने के लिए कुछ भव्य करने की ज़रूरत नहीं, लगातार सच बोलना ही काफ़ी भारी है।
