Mahabharata 12.156.24 meaning
n-asti satyat paro dharmo n-anritat patakam param
sthitir hi satyam dharmasya tasmat satyam na lopayet
There is no dharma higher than truth and no sin worse than falsehood. Truth is the very foundation of dharma, so never abandon truth.
What it means
Lies feel small and convenient, but they crack the foundation everything else rests on. Protect your honesty even in little things, because trust, once broken, is very hard to rebuild.
Spoken by Bhishma.
