Mahabharata 12.110.11 meaning
dharanad dharma ity-ahur dharmena vidhritah prajah
yat syad dharanasanyuktam sa dharma iti nishchayah
धारणाद्धर्म इत्याहुर्धर्मेण विधृताः प्रजाः।
यत्स्याद्धारणसंयुक्तं स धर्म इति निश्चयः॥
It is called dharma because it holds things together; by dharma all people are sustained. Whatever holds and supports is dharma; that is certain.
