Katha Upanishad 2.3.15 meaning

yada sarve prabhidyante hridayasy-eha granthayah atha martyomrito bhavaty-etavad dhy-anushasanam

When all the knots of the heart are cut open here in this life, then a mortal becomes immortal. That is the whole of the teaching.

What it means
We carry knots in our hearts: grudges, fears, attachments, confusion. Untying them is the whole work. The teaching is simple, even if doing it takes a lifetime.

Spoken by Yama.
