yas tv-avijnanavan bhavaty-ayuktena manasa sada
tasy-endriyany-avashyani dusht-ashva iva saratheh
यस्त्वविज्ञानवान्भवत्ययुक्तेन मनसा सदा।
तस्येन्द्रियाण्यवश्यानि दुष्टाश्वा इव सारथेः॥
For one who lacks understanding and whose mind is always undisciplined, the senses run out of control, like wild horses for a charioteer.

जिसमें विवेक नहीं और जिसका मन हमेशा बेलगाम है, उसकी इंद्रियाँ वश में नहीं रहतीं, जैसे सारथी के बिगड़ैल घोड़े।
स्थिर मन के बिना आवेग भागते घोड़ों की तरह हावी हो जाते हैं। ज़्यादातर पछतावे तब होते हैं जब लगाम ढीली थी। सजगता उसे प्यार से पर मज़बूती से थामना है।
