Katha Upanishad 1.3.6 meaning
yas tu vijnanavan bhavati yuktena manasa sada
tasy-endriyani vashyani sad-ashva iva saratheh
यस्तु विज्ञानवान्भवति युक्तेन मनसा सदा।
तस्येन्द्रियाणि वश्यानि सदश्वा इव सारथेः॥
But for one who has understanding and a mind that is always disciplined, the senses obey, like good horses for a charioteer.

पर जिसमें विवेक है और जिसका मन हमेशा संयमित है, उसकी इंद्रियाँ वश में रहती हैं, जैसे सारथी के अच्छे घोड़े।
प्रशिक्षित मन इच्छाओं को मारता नहीं, उन्हें दिशा देता है। अच्छे घोड़ों की तरह इंद्रियाँ तब मित्र बनती हैं जब विवेक लगाम थामता है।
