Katha Upanishad 1.3.1 meaning

ritam pibantau sukritasya loke guham pravishtau parame parardhe chayatapau brahmavido vadanti panchagnayo ye cha trinachiketah

Two dwell in the cave of the heart, the highest place, tasting the results of deeds in this world of action. Knowers of Brahman, and those who tend the sacred fires, call them shadow and sunlight.

What it means
Within each of us live two: the self that experiences ups and downs, and the pure awareness that simply shines. Knowing both helps us be less lost in passing moods.

Spoken by Yama.
