Katha Upanishad 1.1.28 meaning
ajeeryatam amritanam upetya jeeryan martyah kvadhahsthah prajanan
abhidhyayan varnaratipramodan atideerghe jeevite ko rameta
Having come near the undying, ageless ones, what ageing mortal on earth, who understands this, would delight in a very long life, dwelling on beauty and pleasure?
What it means
Once you glimpse something lasting, temporary thrills lose their pull. A longer life of the same pleasures is not the same as a deeper one.
