Katha Upanishad 1.1.18 meaning

trinachiketas trayam etad viditva ya evam vidvansh chinute nachiketam sa mrityupashan puratah pranodya shok-atigo modate svargaloke

The wise one who knows these three and builds the Nachiketa fire with understanding throws off the noose of death while still alive, goes beyond sorrow, and rejoices in heaven.

What it means
Ritual done with understanding becomes transformation. When we know why we do something, even simple practices can free us from the grip of fear and grief.

Spoken by Yama.
